Routing to Hood River and Lodging

I have some news via the wonderful Pat Evenson-Brady.  Apparently, there is some construction going on in the I-84 to Country Club Road (the road from which you get to Tyler Drive where the reception is taking place) and once all construction is complete, we will have a current and handy-dandy map available for you to use.

From the words of Pat, "They are building 2 new streets to replace County Club at the bottom, but they haven't named the streets yet.  Folks will still be exiting at exit 64 (1st exit) but then going on Cascade to Mt. Adams St (not completed yet) to No Name Street that will intersect with County Club somewhere.  Stay tuned.  Won't add much travel time.

If you are thinking that you might want to get a place to stay in Hood River for that night, the Hood River Chamber of Commerce has a website with a list of all the local accommodations.  You can check that out right here: http://hoodriver.org/travelers-guide/where-to-stay.

Hood River is a resort town, so things can get filled up in the summer (and in the winter, too, from all the people who come for the skiing on Mount Hood) so if you see a place that looks nice, Pat recommends booking early.

I hope to be back in Hood River by April, which should give me time to perhaps check out some of those places for myself so I can provide more detailed information.  And any recommendations or information that I get before then, I will certainly pass along!

Stay tuned for more!

Welcome to the Dylan and Ruty Blog!  Today, I took my first major step towards actually planning our wedding reception by ordering save-the-date cards.  That was scary.  It made everything seem totally official!

But!  It is good!

My hope is that save-the-date card has led you to this blog!  Here I will continue to give updates on my adventures in planning and let you know important things like:

How to get to Hood River?

Where to stay in Hood River?

And why is there a crazy flamingo lady behind you in that picture?

More to come!
